daniela anne cantu is a filmmaker and performer, her work often grappling with sexuality and sensuality. coming from a theatrical background, her directorial practice often centers on performance, drawing inspiration from methods developed by uda hagen and sanford meisner. spending the first eighteen years of her life living in rural texas, her work emphasizes the emotional and social effects of adjusting to urban, unfamiliar environments.
in 2023, her mockumentary +33 07 DATE ME PLS was awarded BEST CAST at the ALTERNATIVE FILM FESTIVAL.​​
daniela cantu is a 2025 graduate of emerson college & paris college of art's global bachelor of fine arts in film art program. coming from a small town in rural texas, daniela has an appreciation for highlighting the artistic happenings of filmmakers with small budgets/limited production resources.
in her final semester of film school, daniela was mentored by film critic and academic yonca talu.
daniela has trained with zach kononov (regional/national tour performer) and lea grant (professional vocal instructor). She has also participated in the broadway collective's gathered (2019), working with kate lumpkin (CSA), robert hartwell (CEO), sheri sanders (professional vocal coach) and taylor trensch (broadway performer).
